What You'll Do as a Legal Data & Reporting Product Manager
As a Legal Data & Reporting Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving data and reporting solutions for BCG's Legal function. Your responsibilities include:
- Act as the day-to-day product delivery lead for the Data & Reporting squad, serving as a proxy for the Product Owner by translating priorities into executable work, unblocking delivery, and coordinating across analysts and engineers.
- Partner with stakeholders across the Legal function to gather, document, and refine reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with senior leadership decision-making needs.
- Design, develop, and enhance business intelligence solutions—primarily using Tableau and/or Power BI—to improve legal operations reporting and analytical insight.
- Define and maintain data models that support analytics use cases, ensuring data quality, integrity, and usability across multiple sources.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, surface insights, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Own and curate a prioritized backlog of reporting and analytics enhancements to drive continuous improvement.
- Support development and execution of the data and reporting roadmap, ensuring alignment with Legal priorities and broader business objectives.
- Partner with data and engineering teams to support data quality, including audits, issue resolution, and process improvements.
- Develop documentation, training materials, and enablement sessions to drive adoption and effective use of reporting tools.
- Monitor reporting usage and performance to identify opportunities for optimization and additional value.
- Lead day-to-day squad execution across analysts and engineers, ensuring delivery against the committed roadmap and acting as the primary point of coordination between the Product Owner and the squad.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for the Legal Data & Reporting Product Manager role will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- 5–10+ years of experience in data product management, product analytics, data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence within a corporate or professional services environment.
- Experience leading delivery within cross-functional squads or agile teams, serving as a key interface between product leadership and execution teams.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and deliver insights that inform senior leadership decision-making and product direction.
- Hands-on experience designing high-quality dashboards in Tableau (Power BI experience a plus).
- Strong experience working with enterprise data platforms, databases, and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in SQL; experience with dbt and Snowflake preferred.
- Familiarity with AI, data science concepts, and Python is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to support a global team, with flexibility to occasionally work outside traditional hours.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
