Role Overview: Director of AWS Platforms

This role, also known as Director – Software Asset and Configuration Management (SACM), is key in creating, implementing, and continuously improving a modern, fully automated SACM function that serves as the backbone for observability, service reliability, release and change management, and infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Platform Vision: Define and execute the global SACM strategy and roadmap; establish a real-time CMDB for cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments; integrate SACM into core IT processes; and champion automation and transparency.
  • Automation & Integration: Build a fully automated CMDB with bi-directional integration, enable API driven data consumption by cross-functional teams, and support safe deployments.
  • Operational Excellence & SRE Alignment: Apply SRE principles for platform reliability, integrate with 24x7 operations, and set SLOs and KPIs focused on performance and resilience.
  • Governance, Compliance & Asset Management: Ensure data accuracy for audits, support compliance, and establish stewardship models.
  • Architecture & Platform Enablement: Collaborate with architecture teams for system mapping and risk management.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Lead a global team and partner across security, infrastructure, and product teams to drive continuous innovation.

What You'll Bring

Over 12 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or platform engineering, including 5+ years leading CMDB, ITSM, or configuration management functions. Must have a strong background in ITSM frameworks, SRE practices, CICD pipelines, and observability platforms. Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow, Jira Service Management and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.
