Role Overview
As part of the AI Factory, the Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains the data foundation for AI/ML models and analytics. The role focuses on ingesting, transforming, and optimizing data from multiple HR and enterprise systems while ensuring compliance and readiness for AI-driven use cases.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Build and manage data lakes, warehouses, and marts.
- Optimize data quality through validation, cleansing, and transformation.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and AI/ML Engineers to meet data requirements.
- Implement data governance practices in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and AI regulations.
- Integrate real-time and batch processing solutions with automation using CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, documenting models and workflows.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in data engineering and cloud platforms.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field is required. Certifications in cloud data engineering (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are a plus.
Experience required: 5-8 years overall, with at least 3 years focusing on data pipelines, cloud data platforms, and handling large-scale datasets.
Technical Skills
- Expert in Python and SQL.
- Proficient with Apache Spark, PySpark, or Flink.
- Experience with AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3), Azure (Data Factory, Synapse) or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow).
- Hands-on with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow, Talend, or Informatica.
- Knowledge in dimensional data modeling and schema designs like star/snowflake.
- Experience in integrating APIs and streaming data sources.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with HR data platforms (SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle HCM).
- Familiarity with MLOps data preparation workflows and data versioning tools.
- Knowledge of vector databases, data cataloging and metadata management.
