Overview
Booking.com follows a defense in depth strategy for managing its risks. As part of this strategy, three departments focus on risk: Global Internal Audit (3rd line), Risk and Controls (2nd line), and Trust, Risk, Assurance and Compliance (TRAC) for the first line. The Risk & Compliance Officer - Trust & Safety is an individual contributor with expert-level domain knowledge responsible for partnering with risk owners throughout the Security, Safety & Fraud (SS&F) department and other business units.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic risk partnership and support SS&F risk assessments.
- Advise on risk mitigation and design fit-for-purpose internal controls.
- Identify automation opportunities and implement scalable workflow solutions.
- Collaborate with control owners and stakeholders to protect company assets.
- Monitor risk metrics using tools like Jira, Tableau, and ServiceNow.
Role Qualifications
Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, auditing, corporate governance, risk management or internal controls. Familiarity with control frameworks (NIST, PCI-DSS, SOX, SWIFT), scripting languages like Python, and GRC tools is required. A background in large e-commerce or tech companies, with hands-on experience in technology risk domains including IT, cybersecurity, data security, and fraud, is highly valued.
