The Data Track within FinTech is dedicated to governing, acquiring, cleansing, enriching, storing, and distributing comprehensive and reliable transactional data. Its mission is to ensure data is accurate, trustworthy, and readily available for all stakeholders, owning both data infrastructure and pipelines.
Role Overview: Fintech Data Manager
The Fintech Data Manager is crucial for ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of all FinTech transactional data. Key responsibilities include:
- Data Support and Optimization: Improving existing support procedures, streamlining stakeholder processes, analyzing trends, and proposing strategic solutions to recurring data issues.
- Data Quality Champion: Acting as the primary advisor for data quality initiatives, moving towards a holistic view across all pipelines and data assets.
- Data Modeling and Semantics: Actively participating in data modeling for FinTech Products, understanding complex business processes, and ensuring data structures accurately reflect operational reality.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Support the creation of physical data models operationalizable within company workflows and infrastructure to meet business requirements.
- Support mapping data flows between systems and workflows across the company for efficiency and proper controls.
- Support efficient data ingestion solutions, batch processing, and event-based streams for real-time actions and rapid business decisions.
- Connect datasets from different systems into a unified solution to deliver high-value data.
- Monitor relevant SLIs and SLOs to support ownership of data solutions end-to-end.
- Support defining quality requirements for data assets based on standards for all data quality dimensions.
- Develop and utilize data validation solutions for values and schemas, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Implement and use solutions for monitoring, failure detection, and data availability to ensure timeliness and completeness.
- Build software applications using relevant development languages for specific business area systems, services, and tools.
- Ensure data timeliness based on business requirements by driving strategy and implementation of monitoring and failure detection.
- Expertise and experience in data analysis, data management, data visualization, and quality.
Role Qualifications and Requirements
- Knowledge of data modelling methods (Relational, Dimensional).
- Intermediate knowledge of data quality requirements and implementation methodologies.
- Intermediate knowledge of Data Management requirements based on best practices, e.g., DAMA-DMBOK.
- Intermediate knowledge of one or more database querying languages or scripting tools, e.g., SQL, VBA, Pandas, R.
- Driven and results-oriented personality.
- Open to feedback and always looking for ways to improve performance.
- Able to understand details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
- Able to spot opportunities to drive business growth from their craft.
