About the Role
At Bombardier, we design, build and maintain peak-performing aircraft for discerning customers worldwide. As a Professional Engineering Senior Materials & Processes, you will perform a diversified range of engineering activities mainly focused on metallics and chemical processes.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform tasks across various engineering fields, emphasizing metallics and chemical processes.
- Lead R&D projects on environmentally compliant Materials & Processes and apply knowledge of regulations such as REACH.
- Develop material qualification test plans, collaborate with laboratories, analyze results and produce detailed test reports.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and manufacturing technique sheets.
- Collaborate with Production, Methods, Quality & Logistics to resolve production issues.
- Support process improvement and cost reduction initiatives, highlighting risks timely.
What You Bring
- Degree in Materials, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 8 to 15 years’ experience in an aerospace/military production environment.
- Knowledge of military and aerospace standards (MIL specs, ASTM, ISO, SAE, Federal regulations).
- Expertise in metallic materials like aluminum, steel, titanium and understanding of corrosion mechanisms.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, forming, heat treatment, shot peening and chemical treatments.
- Strong engineering design skills and ability to review drawings.
- Problem-solving skills with a pro-active mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and French.
- Team-oriented with daily interaction with technical experts and technicians.
