Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with pilot subject matter experts and instructional designers to scope, revise, edit, format, and proofread training materials.
- Enforce standards, processes, and branding guidelines for pilot training manuals.
- Develop solutions for content strategy challenges using advanced tools including artificial intelligence.
- Devise strategies for adapting courseware to regional requirements.
- Manage training manual content files in a structured DITA XML publishing system.
- Coordinate stakeholder reviews and reconcile conflicting inputs.
- Conduct thorough reviews for grammar, spelling, bias, and technical accuracy.
- Research and document technical information to enhance current processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Aviation, Instructional Design, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- At least 9 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in aviation, aerospace, technology, or safety-critical documentation.
- Proven ability to enforce editorial standards and ensure quality controls within documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaborative skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally and work with distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with DITA XML and XML-based authoring tools (e.g., Oxygen XML Editor).
- Experience with generative AI applications for technical writing.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety-focused quality standards.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
