About the Role
Boeing is looking for a Product Repair/Mod Technician to join our team in Papa AFB, Hungary. This position is part of the on-site C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program maintenance team, supporting the Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) C-17 aircraft based at Papa AFB, Hungary. The successful applicant will participate in organizational level maintenance activities, including flight line tasks such as aircraft servicing, inspections, fault diagnosis, component replacement, and structural repair, all essential for day-to-day C-17 Globemaster III aircraft operations to meet SAC mission requirements. Additionally, participation in Intermediate level maintenance activities, such as back-shop tasks including component repair, test set operation, battery charging, and scheduled periodic inspections, will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembles, disassembles, and troubleshoots all assemblies by changing, removing, and replacing aerospace vehicle components using general aerospace maintenance practices and product specifications.
- Removes and replaces components for repair, replacement, or testing to support product serviceability.
- Resolves and corrects complex problems during operation, maintenance, and repair of deliverable products.
- Leads assembly, disassembly, or overhaul functions to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and thoroughness of product processes.
- Measures and makes adjustments using shims, lapping, or other documented processes to satisfy specifications and ensure correct tolerances.
- Plans and coordinates the activities of other technicians to ensure timely repairs.
- Independently performs routine functional/diagnostic tests and troubleshoots aerospace/missile systems using monitoring instruments and bench/automated test equipment.
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components to ensure serviceability.
- Troubleshoots for customers using established fault isolation procedures to isolate mechanical or electrical faults.
- Calls out routine repairs and advises less experienced technicians on how to analyze test results.
- Directs routine and complex functional/diagnostic tests and troubleshoots aerospace/missile systems to determine root cause of failures.
- Oversees and advises individuals on analyzing test data and assists engineering in diagnosing, locating, and correcting complex malfunctions.
- Independently inspects components before installation or usage, identifying and documenting discrepancies.
- Documents repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results using specific instructions and established processes.
- Assists engineering to rectify discrepancies found by technicians and in the development of new proposals.
- Performs C-17 maintenance including pre/post flight inspections, repair flight discrepancies, launch and recover aircraft, and scheduled maintenance activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must have prior C-17 Maintenance experience, minimum of 6 years in FCC, flight line, or HSC work.
- Candidate must hold an Exceptional Release (ER) certificate.
- This position requires working one of three shifts Monday through Friday, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Requires the ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Required to obtain NATO or US security clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required for U.S. clearance).
- Candidate must be able to obtain work visa depending on requirements of the country.
- Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country as applicable.
- All technical data to perform the tasks and training are in English.

Work Environment and Requirements
Relocation is offered on this requisition for qualified candidates. Applicants must be able to obtain a work permit/visa depending on the requirements of the country. This requisition is for an international, locally hired position. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll. The employment will be contingent on the candidate's ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country. This position requires an active or ability to obtain NATO Secret Clearance or US Security Clearance. Employer willing to sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
