About Boeing Technology Innovation Graduate Researcher Program Computational Materials Science Intern

Internship Experience

Graduate Researcher Program Details
The GRP is a hybrid experience combining real-world industry work with development programming. You will be placed with a host team and gain experience that may lead to a full-time position upon completion of your studies.
GRP programming includes mentorship, weekly featured speaker talks, an in-person summit, an innovation challenge, and networking opportunities with Boeing leadership.
Role Requirements
We seek a PhD candidate in computational materials science, computational chemistry, computational physics, applied math or similar fields with:
- Completion of the first year of PhD studies by July 2026.
- Experience with chemical or materials modeling and simulation software.
- Knowledge of computational/numerical methods for corrosion modeling and/or fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Enrollment in an academic program with an expected graduation on or after August 2026.
- Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional skills that are advantageous include:
- Software programming skills (Python, C, C++, R, etc.).
- Experience with multi-physics modeling software (e.g., COMSOL) and corrosion analysis tools (e.g., BEASY).
- A passion for research and applying mathematics to practical engineering problems.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive work ethic.
Additional Information
This is a 100% onsite role subject to U.S. export control compliance. Applicants must meet U.S. Person requirements, and Boeing does not sponsor employment visas. The position includes relocation benefits based on eligibility and is scheduled for 1st shift.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary is based on experience and qualifications with a range of $83,000 - $89,000 per year along with a comprehensive Total Rewards package including health benefits, retirement plans, and more.
