About the Role
Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer Finance to join our IT Enterprise Data, AI & Platforms team. In this critical role, you will enhance data infrastructure, optimize data flows, and ensure the quality and availability of key financial data assets used for driving digital finance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data architects, engineers, analysts, data scientists, and finance stakeholders.
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS S3, Snowflake, dbt, and Snaplogic.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and accessibility for critical financial data.
- Document data processes, architecture, and workflows; monitor pipeline performance.
- Continuously evaluate new technologies and industry trends for data engineering improvements.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or Bachelor’s with extended experience).
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer or Data Scientist.
- Expertise in Apache ecosystem (Parquet, Iceberg, Spark, Kafka, Airflow) and AWS data services (Kinesis, Glue, AppFlow, Lambda, S3).
- Strong hands-on experience in Python or Scala; proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and dbt for data pipeline design.
- Familiarity with end-to-end Finance processes in SAP FI/CO and financial reporting is a plus.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau is advantageous.
- Excellent project management, organizational skills, and a strong analytical mindset.
- Fluent in English; German skills are a plus.
