Role Overview
The Data Scientist I/II will join BNSF | Tech in a remote position within the United States. In this role, you will develop and deploy data-driven solutions to optimize freight operations and enhance decision-making, working with large datasets, machine learning models and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data science or analysis
- Understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL and familiarity with Java or Scala
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn (preferred)
- Experience in transportation related industries is an advantage
- Knowledge of geospatial libraries and agile methodologies (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems
- Analyze complex datasets to generate actionable insights
- Develop, train, and implement machine learning models
- Create visualizations and dashboards for stakeholder communication
- Maintain and update data pipelines to ensure quality data
- Drive AI, optimization projects aligned with business objectives
- Engage with stakeholders to transform needs into technical solutions
