About Business Line/Function
ISPL Compliance Hub is focused on protecting the reputation of the Group and effectively managing risk across all business areas by providing support to various Compliance functions. At present, the department is broadly organized into divisions providing services for Global Compliance Training, Capital Markets Surveillance, Electronic Communication Surveillance, Compliance Migrations Co-Ordination, Personal Account Dealing, MIS and Projects management support. The team works closely with business partners in CIB and the wider group.

Position Purpose
The Transaction Monitoring Optimization Data analyst will operate within India Compliance COE, based in Mumbai and support Compliance CIB Central team with Data Analysis for impact analysis on various AML / Sanctions / KYC Score, Tuning methodologies (e.g. Above The Line, Below The Line).
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Perform in‑depth statistical evaluations across key Compliance elements, including negative testing, hypothesis testing, regression techniques, clustering analysis, and behavioral/activity-based tests.
- Partner with the Compliance CIB Central team to deliver data-driven insights for impact analyses related to AML, Sanctions, and KYC scoring models, including tuning methodologies such as Above-the-Line and Below-the-Line assessments.
- Assess data completeness, accuracy, and consistency across multiple compliance systems, ensuring robust validation before model evaluation or reporting.
- Develop detailed UAT test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures based on business requirements and functional specifications to validate data flows, system behavior, and display logic.
- Conduct exhaustive end‑to‑end testing of compliance reporting platforms, case management and negative news systems to ensure functionality aligns with compliance standards.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation of testing outcomes, data observations, analytical findings, and model impact assessments for Compliance stakeholders and governance forums.
Contributing Responsibilities
- Work closely with technology, operations, and compliance policy teams to resolve data issues, support model enhancement initiatives, and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Steer a compliance mindset and stay up to date with projects/tasks assigned, Manage Stakeholder expectations w.r.t assigned tasks
- Deliver appropriate reporting content, KPI metrics to beneficiary and Local management, with continuity of reporting and transparency on actions as per agreed KPI
- Proactively communicate with ISPL Management in case of challenges and bottlenecks.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree (or beyond)
- 3 – 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Understanding of statistics, different distributions, hypothesis testing, regression etc.
- Self-sufficiency in SQL, Python (functions, procedures and packages)
- Data analytics and mining (Dataiku)
- Excellent Analytical and English written/oral communication skills—the ability to communicate with varied audiences and stakeholders (IT, senior management, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues
- Understanding of various methodologies used in AML transaction monitoring fine tuning such as ATL, BTL, etc. would be an advantage.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI and ETL tools is highly desired
