Data Science and Simulation Intern at BMW Group

We, the BMW Group, offer you an exciting and varied internship in the field of Data Science and Simulation. Our team designs global assembly systems for the components of BMW Group's electric powertrains and internal combustion engines. This includes both the conception of new assembly processes and the integration of new product generations into existing assembly systems. Our focus and expertise lie in software for the operation and digital validation of our systems.
Your Responsibilities
- You will support our department in the areas of Data Science and production line simulation.
- For Data Science, you will assist with the “Digitaler Schatten” (Digital Shadow) project, which involves building dashboards based on production data and deriving valuable insights for the simulation and planning of production lines.
- Furthermore, you will support the organization and execution of simulation projects, where production material flows are digitally mapped, simulated, and optimized.
- Your diverse range of tasks will be rounded off by your involvement in the department's operational day-to-day business.
What You Bring
- Studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or a comparable field.
- First practical experience with programming languages, ideally Python.
- Initial practical experience with Siemens Plant Simulation and the SimTalk programming language is desirable.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Negotiation-level German and good English language skills.
- Initial practical experience in Data Analytics projects is desirable.
