Job Description

About the Senior Technology Officer Role

This role prioritizes and supports customer-facing and internal platforms by tracking platform health, adoption, and ensuring stability, accessibility, scalability, security and innovation. The candidate will coordinate technology, design, security, and marketing efforts to develop platform strategies, roadmaps and deliver execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor relationships for support, compliance, and license tracking.
  • Document business rules, technical specifications, and process flows.
  • Analyze platform data to drive optimizations and improvements.
  • Manage technical requirements including APIs with focus on security.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform vision and roadmap.
  • Foster a culture aligned with BMO values and inclusive practices.
  • Build interdependent teams and support talent development.
  • Operate at an enterprise level, providing specialist advice to senior leaders.

Qualifications & Skills

Intermediate proficiency: new product development, UI/UX design, cybersecurity concepts, learning agility, creative and emotional agility. Advanced proficiency: system design, API management, product design, test driven development, DevOps, cloud computing (AWS or Azure), production support, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement management. Typically 7+ years of experience and a relevant degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technical Requirements

  • Loan IQ expertise and batch/operations oversight.
  • Integration & APIs using IBM API Connect/DataPower, REST/JSON.
  • Oracle/SQL troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
  • Cloud technologies experience with AWS or Azure.
  • Experience in production support, incident, and release/change management.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a salaried position with a pay range of $94,600.00 - $176,000.00. Total compensation may include performance-based incentives, bonuses, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
