Senior Security Analyst

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Security Analyst at BMO, you will be responsible for conducting investigations to identify, assess, decision, and report on activity indicating exposure to financial crimes. This involves ensuring potential threats are thoroughly evaluated, documented, managed, and escalated according to standard operating procedures. You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing oversight of criminal risk through a disciplined, intelligence-based approach to detect and research activities and events, aligning with criminal risk frameworks and standards to ensure compliance and support trending, analysis, and insights generation.

Key duties include providing input and developing recommendations for process and customer service improvements, and staying current with financial crimes risk trends, relevant regulations, and compliance standards. You will monitor and analyze various information from detection systems, tools, reports, or manual sources to evaluate, investigate, and determine necessary actions. This role also involves supporting the collection of evidence for incident reports, loss prevention, litigation, criminal prosecution, and management information.

You will document all actions and information found during investigations to maintain comprehensive account/case files, and continuously develop your understanding of financial crime management processes, frameworks and techniques. The Senior Security Analyst will also gather and format data for regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards, analyzing this data to provide valuable insights and recommendations. You will execute routine tasks efficiently within service level agreements and provide necessary notifications and instructions to internal and external stakeholders related to incidents. This position may involve handling complex and diverse tasks, including escalations from other employees, analyzing issues, and determining next steps.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements pertaining to financial crimes is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with banking products, services, processes, and organizational structure is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated specialized knowledge relevant to security analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple investigations and reports.
• Proven collaboration and team working abilities.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex security issues.

Language Requirement

Fluency in both French and English is required, as this role provides critical support to clients and team members within and outside the province of Quebec.
