About the role
Investment Specialist
BMO is seeking an Investment Specialist to understand customer needs and provide wealth and investment-related sales and service to BMO customers or prospects. You will advise customers on wealth and investment strategies and products that meet their objectives, while fulfilling sales and service activities in accordance with approved procedures. This role also involves identifying and making referrals to other business groups as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer experience by providing products that meet investment needs.
- Stay informed about consumer needs, industry trends, best practices, and the regulatory environment.
- Provide professional quality sales and service for customer and prospect inquiries, issues, and requests.
- Probe to understand customer needs and advise them through their unique investment needs.
- Achieve sales targets with a focus on relevant investment products.
- Manage transactional outcomes or refer to appropriate internal business groups.
- Escalate complex or unresolved customer situations to senior managers.
- Perform required documentation after customer interactions for accurate processing.
- Maintain current knowledge of investment markets, practices, and trends.
- Integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and Bank information.
- Identify and report suspicious patterns of activity related to money laundering.
- Adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Complete complex tasks within given rules/limits, potentially handling escalations.
- Analyze issues and determine next steps.
Qualifications:
- Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study desirable or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completed Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or IFIC course / IIROC licensed as an Investment Representative.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of competitive market place trends and product offerings.
- Knowledge of BMO Investment / BMO InvestorLine products and services.
- Understanding of Risk Management & Compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organization, collaboration, team, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM EST hours.

- $36,600.00 - $67,500.00 annually
