Job Description

Director, Enterprise Data Management Platforms and Governance Tooling at BMO

BMO is undergoing a significant transformation in how it manages, governs, and leverages data to deliver trusted, connected, and AI-ready insights at scale. To further this ambition, BMO is seeking a Director, Enterprise Data Management Platforms and Governance Tooling to join the Enterprise Data Office within the AI+ Research & Commercialization (ARC) team. This senior, enterprise-wide leadership role focuses on overseeing and advancing BMO’s data management tooling ecosystem, serving as the enterprise service owner for a comprehensive suite of capabilities. This includes metadata management, end-to-end lineage, data quality, data defect workflow, issue management, and adjacent governance platforms, all operationalized through a blend of vendor and proprietary solutions. You will lead both 'Build the Bank' capability development and 'Run the Bank' operational execution, defining product roadmaps and SLAs, driving adoption across various personas and domains, and ensuring seamless integration across the tool suite in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and Solution Engineering.

As Director, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of product owners and vendor partners, establish standards and decision guardrails, and manage intake, prioritization, and backlog to maximize value delivery. You will work closely with the CDAO user story intake model, business domain data offices across Operating Groups and Corporate Functions, Technology, Risk and Compliance, and Audit. Your responsibilities include harmonizing data and analytics risk directives into automated processes, improving end-to-end lineage accuracy, operationalizing data quality rule execution, and aligning policy and standards with daily workflows. Your leadership will directly enable AI-ready data, reduce data risk, strengthen regulatory defensibility (including RDARR and BCBS 239 requirements), and scale AI and innovation across BMO through automation, integration, and modern data practices.

If you are passionate about building enterprise platforms that embed data-by-design into measurable business value, and possess the experience to lead large-scale adoption, integration, and continuous improvement within a complex financial services environment, BMO encourages you to apply and help shape the future of data.
