Overview
The Business Analyst at BMO investigates and identifies strategies to optimize business operations and services, informing business decisions. The role defines business requirements to support technology builds and operations through data analysis, process review, and collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and analyze business and market data to assess project impacts.
- Identify and troubleshoot system malfunctions and workflow issues.
- Elicit requirements and analyze feasibility for achieving business outcomes.
- Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop project documents covering functional and non-functional requirements.
- Build test cases for validating business requirements and user testing.
- Examine technology performance to ensure expected business results.
Qualifications & Proficiency Levels
Foundational Level: Agile Delivery, Data Analysis, Process Optimization, Business Architecture, Stakeholder Management, Digital Fluency, Systems Thinking.
Intermediate Level: Business Requirements Analysis, Insights Reporting, Functional Design, Communication, Collaboration, Analytical Problem Solving and Data Driven Decision Making. Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience plus post-secondary education or equivalent combination is required.
Compensation & Benefits
