Business Analyst at BMO

This role investigates and identifies strategies to optimize business operations and services, and inform business decisions. The Business Analyst defines business requirements to inform technology build and operations by sourcing and analyzing relevant data, reviewing and documenting business processes and collaborating with business stakeholders.

The candidate will source business and market data to evaluate the effect of projects on business results and assess the efficiency and performance of technology systems. They will also identify and analyze malfunctions, system workflows, and troubleshoot issues raised by the business.

Key responsibilities include eliciting requirements and analyzing feasibility, supporting various project teams across the project lifecycle, and developing informative project documents covering both functional and non-functional requirements.

The role requires applying domain and functional expertise to drive expected business value, breaking down strategic problems, analyzing data to provide insights, and building test cases to validate business requirements and end-user testing results.

The position primarily focuses on the business group within BMO but may have an enterprise-wide focus. The Business Analyst will work independently on a range of complex tasks and may be assigned additional broader responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Foundational Proficiency: Agile Delivery, Data Analysis, Learning Agility, Process Improvement, Organization Process Optimization, Business Architecture, Stakeholder Analysis, Digital Fluency, Systems Thinking. Intermediate Proficiency: Business Requirements Definition, Insights Development, Application Functional Design, Functional Analysis, Communication Skills, Collaboration, Analytical and Problem Solving, Data-Driven Decision Making.

Typically requires 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical proficiency should be gained through education and/or business experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $61,600.00 - $113,900.00 (Salaried). Total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
