Role Overview
The AI Business Strategy and Architecture Lead translates BMO Wealth’s AI roadmap into actionable strategies and solution architectures. This role partners with business units to identify high-impact opportunities, architect scalable and ethical AI solutions, and drive a culture of innovation and responsible AI adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Business Alignment & Opportunity Identification: Collaborate with business units to identify, assess, and prioritize AI opportunities; develop business cases and value frameworks; conduct market and competitive intelligence.
AI Solution Architecture & Delivery: Architect scalable, secure, and compliant AI solutions; translate business requirements into technical specifications; advise on Responsible AI practices; ensure regulatory and compliance standards.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Facilitate workshops and executive briefings; communicate complex AI concepts clearly; build and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders.
Portfolio Management: Oversee business case development, resource allocation, ROI tracking; lead cross-functional teams from ideation to production.
Team Leadership & Development: Mentor team members, foster a collaborative environment; support change management and training initiatives.
Required Skills & Tools
- Leadership and cross-functional team management
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Expertise in AI/ML frameworks, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture tools
- Familiarity with Responsible AI, risk management and compliance
- Experience in financial services or wealth management preferred
Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related field; 9+ years in AI strategy, architecture or enterprise technology roles; AWS/Azure/GCP Architect certification is an asset.
Salary & Benefits
Salary range: $132,600 - $231,000 (salaried). Compensation may include performance-based incentives, bonuses, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, and retirement savings plans. Additional details are available on the BMO careers page.
