BIM Co-ordinator

About the Role of BIM Co-ordinator at BMD & Co Ltd

Reporting to the BIM Manager, the BIM Co-ordinator will join the BIM team at BMD & Co Ltd in the Leinster region. This role involves collaborating with customers and design houses to deliver mechanical BIM packages that meet client satisfaction. All BIM tasks must be completed efficiently using the latest software, ensuring compliance with both customer and industrial engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Detail structural steel, pipe supports, field piping and other services as required from base information.
• Create piping fabrication isometrics directly from native models using Plant3D/CADWorx software. (Training can be provided with these software).
• Attend and lead client interactions for BIM co-ordination when required.
• Follow document control procedures.
• Develop models from LOD 200-500.
• Review federated models for BIM clashes with all trades, client and co-ordinate any remedial actions required.
• Solve QAQC issues with engineering lead.
• Review all fabrication documentation, client P+iD’s, vendor equipment drawings/specs and design documentation as required and have ability to create 3D models from base information.
• Develop 2D construction drawings as required.
• Report on design progress to BIM Manager / BIM lead.
• Provide site support for construction teams.
• Verification of installation using survey techniques such as 3D scanning and point cloud.
• Integration of survey data into the BIM model.

Person Specification

Education, Training & Experience

• Preferably a Qualification in a Mechanical related discipline, Design or equivalent.
• Min 1 years relevant work placement in a process mechanical environment.

Software Technology Experience

Experience in applying some or all of the following technologies is preferred:

• Autodesk Packages (AutoCAD 2D, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, Plant3D, etc)
• Cadworx (Training can be provided)
• BlueBeam
• BIM360 CDE
