Executive Assistant to Chief Executive Officer at BluZinc
BluZinc is conducting an executive search for a Founder/CEO of a high-growth D2C digital marketplace, currently valued at $100MM+ and on a trajectory to exceed $500MM in the coming years. With a robust Senior Leadership Team (SLT) already established, this pivotal role is designed to significantly enhance the CEO's effectiveness and that of the broader SLT, optimizing their time, focus, decision-making, and execution across the organization.
The ideal candidate operates seamlessly between strategic thinking and tactical action, serving as a trusted partner, gatekeeper, sounding board, and primary execution lead for the CEO’s most critical and sensitive priorities.
You are inherently AI-native and highly tech-savvy, proficiently utilizing tools such as ChatGPT and Claude Code daily at an intermediate to advanced level, or demonstrate a strong eagerness to learn and integrate them. You should come from a similar company environment, ideally AI-native or an early adopter, as this business is committed to becoming AI-first where appropriate.
Core Responsibilities
- Translate CEO & Board vision into clear priorities, OKRs, and actionable execution plans.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives and maintain a consistent operating cadence.
- Prepare the CEO thoroughly for board meetings, investor presentations, and key stakeholder engagements.
- Provide in-depth research, critical analysis, and robust decision support.
- Act as a vital communication bridge, fostering clear and efficient information flow across the executive team.
- Lead high-impact special projects, encompassing areas like scale, M&A activities, and market entry strategies.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Comprehensive email, calendar, and meeting management.
- Efficiently run executive and SLT meetings, ensuring clear follow-through on action items.
- Proactively track priorities, key metrics, and ensure accountability across teams.
- Draft professional internal and external communications on behalf of the CEO.
- Coordinate all necessary board and investor materials with precision.
- Resolve cross-functional blockers swiftly to maintain operational momentum.
- Take ownership of "CEO-only" initiatives, managing them end-to-end.
- Surface potential risks early and implement proactive solutions to close gaps.
Ideal Profile
- 10-15+ years of dedicated experience supporting CEOs/Founders within fast-scaling SMBs. Experience should reflect a balance, avoiding exclusively small startups or very large corporates.
- Proven track record of scaling companies from approximately 50 to 500 people, ideally across multiple instances.
- Possess board-level confidence, adept at managing meetings, preparing materials, engaging with investors, and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Strong understanding of the D2C, eCommerce, and digital marketplace landscape.
- A passion for areas such as sport, health, wellness, fitness, or biohacking would align well with the company's culture.
- Must be USA-based and available for a fully remote work arrangement.
