Business Unit Overview

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, focused on the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems powering rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

The Role

As a Technical Product Manager III, you will drive the creation of best-in-class software applications that improve program execution, efficiency and support Blue Engines processes.

  • Translate customer requirements into detailed product specifications.
  • Coordinate software development from design to deployment.
  • Manage project plans, resource allocation, and testing processes.
  • Lead product discovery and roadmap formulation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with customers to convert abstract ideas into requirements.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture artifacts.
  • Oversee the software creation process including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Drive product vision, building user stories and sprint execution.
  • Challenge traditional processes to improve existing solutions.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics or related field.
  • 8+ years’ experience in a software development environment.
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or hardware testing is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage ambiguity.

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with configuration management and product lifecycle systems.
  • Understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs, database systems (relational and non-relational).
  • Proficiency in Python, Next.js, Typescript, AWS, and unit testing methodology.

Compensation and Benefits

WA applicants: $137,049 - $191,868. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid parental leave, 401(k) match, education support, paid time off, company holidays, and discretionary bonuses.
