Job Description
The Payroll & Tax Analyst is responsible for independently completing core payroll processing procedures while also assisting with payroll tax filings, audits, system testing, and addressing employee inquiries at Blue Cross NC.
What You’ll Do
- Execute full-cycle payroll processing for each pay period.
- Ensure accurate calculation of overtime, shift payments, commissions, bonuses, benefits, tax withholdings and deductions.
- Reconcile and resolve payroll variances during the bi-weekly process.
- Load payroll input files and process various payroll tax tasks.
- Assist in testing, configuration and maintenance of the payroll system.
- Support financial reporting, audit requests, and legislative compliance.
- Document procedures and employee communications while addressing case inquiries via Salesforce or email.
What You Bring
Bachelor's or advanced degree (or equivalent experience), with 2+ years in a related field. Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll requirements, tax regulations, SOX principles, and payroll accounting is required.
What We Like
- Experience with US multi-state payroll processing.
- Strong familiarity with federal, state, and local tax rules.
- Experience with ADP Tax Service, ADP Smart Compliance, Workday, Salesforce, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent time management and communication skills in a remote environment.
