Bloomberg's Metadata Strategy team in the CTO Office defines and delivers the long-term strategy for semantic data and metadata. The team builds scalable, intelligent systems to make data more meaningful and interoperable. The Bloomberg Knowledge Graph (KG) is a foundational asset that models interconnected financial markets, entities, events, and metadata.
About the Role
As the Technical Product Manager Semantic Modeling Integration, you will lead the evolution of Bloomberg's Semantic Model (BSM). You will shape its strategic roadmap, technical direction, and execution plans for integrating semantic models into Bloomberg's diverse ecosystem. Your role involves defining vision, establishing best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including data experts, engineers, and AI researchers.
Responsibilities
- Define and champion the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for BSM.
- Develop iterative strategies for semantic model development and modularization.
- Lead integration with AI/ML teams to enable generative AI and intelligent agents.
- Create structured roadmaps and user stories with data domain experts.
- Establish best practices for ontology, taxonomy, and reference model development.
- Introduce automation for model development workflows.
- Foster collaboration between metadata creators and consumers.
Requirements
- 8+ years in product management with a technical background.
- Expertise in semantic technologies such as OWL, RDF/S, SPARQL, SHACL.
- Experience with enterprise data modeling and metadata systems.
- Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent.
- Proven track record in shaping business strategy and roadmaps.
- Familiarity with agile project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and products.
- Open source community involvement.
- Experience with Bloomberg Terminal or enterprise data products.
- Exposure to collaborative design platforms like MIRO and FIGMA.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: 140,000 - 295,000 USD annually plus benefits and bonus. Bloomberg offers a comprehensive benefits package including merit increases, incentive compensation, paid time off, health benefits, 401(k) matching, and more.
