The Company Financials Industries team provides clients with market-moving data including broker estimates, financial filings, and other critical datasets. The team leverages financial modeling, industry expertise, data management, and technical skills to curate key metrics and extract insights.

Role Overview

In the role of Senior Data Management Professional, you will oversee data management and analysis for a portfolio of companies. Your responsibilities include building financial models, designing technical solutions, analyzing company data, defining key metrics, and researching alternative datasets to enhance Bloomberg’s financial data products.

Responsibilities

  • Own data coverage, quality, and curation for 15-20 companies.
  • Perform data profiling and exploratory analysis to identify investment areas.
  • Develop and productionize advanced data quality solutions using technical acumen.
  • Utilize Python to query, analyze, and automate workflows.
  • Analyze industry trends to ensure datasets reflect high-value information.
  • Troubleshoot data quality escalations and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Develop financial models and support AI/ML automation initiatives.
  • Build interconnected data models and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Mentor and train junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, STEM, or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in financial data analysis, equity research, or financial modeling.
  • Strong coding proficiency in Python or R, with advanced experience in Pandas or dplyr.
  • Deep understanding of financial statements, financial modeling, and industry analysis.
  • Competency in applied statistics and basic relational data modelling.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or CFA designation (or in progress).
  • Sector-specific expertise in areas such as Consumer, Health Care, Energy, Real Estate, Technology, Financials, Industrials.
  • Experience with data management principles, BI tools, or quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal and Company Financials products.
