The Opportunity: India Money and Power Team Leader
We are seeking a seasoned editor or reporter to lead our India Money and Power Team. This role demands a candidate who excels at breaking major stories, urgently pursues exclusives, and possesses the technical expertise to craft ambitious, in-depth narratives on India’s rapidly evolving finance, investment, and credit sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with reporters on the ground, guiding compelling coverage of India’s shifting financial landscape.
- Focus on areas such as Wall Street banks’ investment and acquisition boom, high-frequency trading firms, and private equity/credit strategies.
- Shape ideas and deliver stories at the intersection of money and power, exploring how wealth influences politics and its market reverberations.
- Lead with a clear vision, prioritize resources effectively, and guide reporters in pursuing impactful scoops and enterprise stories.
What You’ll Trust Us To Do
- Lead a team with broad knowledge across finance, investing, real estate, and credit.
- Manage and edit breaking news with speed, accuracy, and context.
- Maintain a proven track record of editing and guiding reporters on ambitious and complex narratives.
- Demonstrate strong editorial judgment and drive agenda-setting stories.
- Mentor, motivate, and inspire your team.
- Partner with Bloomberg Magazines, Markets, Businessweek, and the digital team.
- Speak about major stories on Bloomberg TV and Radio.
What You’ll Need To Have
- At least 7 years of experience in financial journalism or equivalent experience at Bloomberg.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a real-time news environment.
- Excellent writing and editing abilities with sharp news judgment.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams in a newsroom.
- Ability to drive exclusive breaking news as well as informative feature stories.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English.
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization.
