Senior Meta Designer - Overwatch Rush

Welcome, heroes! Overwatch Rush is a new top-down Hero shooter designed specifically for mobile, set in the Overwatch universe. We are currently looking for a Senior Systems Designer (Meta) to work on Overwatch Rush for Blizzard Entertainment.

About the Role

As a Senior Systems Designer (Meta), you will be responsible for the development of progression, social, engagement and monetisation features that knit together with the broader game to deliver an engaging, satisfying and cohesive experience for our players. You will be partnering with other Designers, Product Managers, Developers and Artists to realise the above, validate the player experience, identify areas of improvement and continually optimize the game. Responsibilities

• Design best in class features to achieve stated design and product goals while being aligned with the game pillars and holistically fitting the broader game.
• Clearly and concisely communicate the feature design, approach and requirements to team members and key stakeholders through documentation, presentations and visual tools to convey key concepts, mechanics and systems required.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team of developers, artists, designers, product managers and QA analysts to deliver the desired player experience and critical metrics, in line with development timelines.
• Partner with the gameplay design team to ensure a cohesive experience that aligns with gameplay goals and amplifies the overall player experience.
• Respond to emergent QA and design issues/problems in development and ensure these are addressed in line with feature goals and development timelines.
• Collaborate with user research and data analytics teams on user testing and quantitative analysis to derive product insights, identify design issues/opportunities and drive improvements to the game.
• Contribute to an active community of designers, giving and receiving feedback and helping each other improve their work and techniques.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience in F2P design, integrating both an engaging user experience and effective monetisation strategy into live games.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Able to clearly document game design concepts and articulate them succinctly to team members and stakeholders.
• Adept at understanding player behaviour and experience with sophisticated meta systems via analytical, long-term sources like data and empathetic, moment-to-moment sources like playtesting.
• Strong planning and organizational skills that allow you to establish and follow key critical initiatives.
• Comfortable working with designers and business performance professionals from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Excels in a collaborative and flexible environment where your role will evolve in line with the ongoing plans for development.
