Patent Agent/Patent Attorney, Chemistry at Blank Rome LLP
Blank Rome LLP is seeking a dedicated Patent Agent/Patent Attorney, Chemistry to join its patent prosecution practice. This role offers the opportunity to work with complex chemistry-related intellectual property, supporting both domestic and international patent filings.
Successful candidates will possess a strong academic background in chemistry or a related scientific field, coupled with practical experience in patent law.
Responsibilities
- Draft and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
- Manage and prosecute international patent applications through various global offices.
- Provide crucial support for intellectual property due diligence processes.
- Adhere to strict internal and client-driven deadlines, managing multiple assignments concurrently.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
- Master's Degree or Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry, organic chemistry, applied chemistry, polymer science, polymer engineering, biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Must be registered to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (Patent Bar eligible).
- If applicable, licensed to practice law in the respective state.
- Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced legal environment.
Work Environment & Compensation
This is a non-partner track, full-time position. Candidates have the flexibility to be based out of our Chicago, New York, Houston, Philadelphia, South Florida, or Washington, D.C. offices.
The target annual pay range for this role in Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C. is $150,000 - $200,000, supplemented by performance-based bonuses. Compensation in other locations will be adjusted to local market rates.
