The Opportunity: General Partner Accounting Associate
As a General Partner Accounting Associate, you will hold key GAAP and Tax reporting responsibilities for our General Partner (GP) and Side-by-Side (SBS) entities. This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in partnership accounting, encompassing both GAAP and tax perspectives, and to gain hands-on experience with critical tax forms such as Schedule K1 and various Federal and State tax returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Full accounting and reporting responsibilities for GP and SBS entities.
- Oversight of our offshore team, including daily and monthly journal entry review and related reconciliations.
- Extensive interaction with internal fund and tax accountants.
- Preparation and review of Quarterly GAAP financial statements using Investran and Oracle software.
- Preparation and review of Quarterly GAAP disclosure items.
- Fund to GP reconciliation of partner contributions and distributions.
- Preparation of Federal and State tax estimates for Blackstone insiders.
- Annual tax compliance utilizing iPACS, Investran, and Excel software.
- Annual preparation of audited SBS financial statements.
- Ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a mandatory requirement.
- CPA certification or public accounting experience actively pursuing a CPA is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, confidence, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior proficiency in MS Excel.
- Experience in alternative asset management is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task effectively.
- A highly motivated, enthusiastic, and results-oriented individual with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to professional excellence.
Salary and Benefits
The expected annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. Actual base salary will be determined by individual experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. This role also includes comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, FSA), paid time off, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation.
