About This Role

The Vice President QA Engineer at BlackRock plays a critical role in developing and maintaining the investment technology base and delivering new platform functionalities for BlackRock SMA Solutions. You will develop, maintain, and execute tests for back-end and database systems, while monitoring and supporting existing automated processes.

Team Overview

BlackRock SMA Solutions customizes portfolios for unique tax requirements, values-alignment, or investment exposures across various asset classes including direct indexing, fixed income, active equity, and multi-asset. The team serves wealth advisors, family offices, endowments, and foundations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product engineers and business analysts on test planning.
  • Review changes from developers and provide feedback on test plans.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and resolutions clearly.
  • Document and report test results as part of the release process.
  • Monitor, maintain, and enforce quality metrics.
  • Enhance test automation frameworks for back-end testing.
  • Develop and execute test cases for integration, database, and ETL systems.

Qualifications

Over 10 years of database development experience with strong SQL, Python scripting abilities, and exceptional communication skills. Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.

Highly Desirable Skills/Experience

Experience in the financial or investment sector and familiarity with ETL processes/tools such as Informatica or Clover.
