Role Description and Responsibilities
The ETF Platform Innovation and Change (EPIC) team, part of BlackRock's Technology & Operations division, develops strategy, executes initiatives, and handles daily operational responsibilities crucial for firm-wide growth. This team comprises operations professionals with Mutual Fund/ETF backgrounds and change specialists, driving scale and innovation to support BlackRock’s global ETFs.
This role sits within the ETF Operations Team. You will work with Portfolio Managers to shape, validate, and distribute ETF baskets, and support Capital Markets and Trading colleagues in monitoring data impact across primary and secondary market trading activities. Regular collaboration with stakeholders in Portfolio Management, Trading, Capital Markets, Technology, Risk, Fund Accounting, Custodians, and Authorized Participants is essential.
As a member of the early morning ETF Operations team (6 am start), you will drive daily operations, taking responsibility for core workflow in the ETF lifecycle to deliver timely and accurate outcomes. You will participate in new product design and implementation, focusing on process improvement, risk mitigation, and creating scale.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of industry experience with an ETF Asset Manager or at a Custody and Fund Accounting organization.
- A strong understanding of ETFs and their broader market ecosystem.
- Solid knowledge of Fund Accounting principles and daily Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation.
- A proven track record of identifying and delivering process improvement.
- A client service mentality and successful relationship-building experience.
- A process-driven approach to problem-solving and high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- A risk management mentality, capable of identifying downstream implications and proactively flagging vulnerabilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to clearly and accurately convey information to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- The desire to work towards industry qualifications such as the IMC.
