About the Role

The DevOps Reliability & Cloud Automation Engineer Associate at BlackRock plays a key role in ensuring system performance, scalability, and stability within the Aladdin Engineering team. You will optimize resource utilization, automate operational tasks, and enhance capacity planning using tools like Python, Terraform, and Ansible with a strong focus on HashiCorp Vault.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance resiliency and availability of BlackRock's Aladdin systems.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools for provisioning and scaling Vault infrastructure.
  • Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for Vault clusters.
  • Automate tasks using Python, Perl, or Bash with focus on Vault.
  • Deploy and manage configurations via GitOps for Vault-managed hardware.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance and conduct root cause diagnostics.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and real-time data processes involving Vault.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related fields.
  • At least 3 years in system engineering for HashiCorp Vault.
  • Strong Python coding skills for automation.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and infrastructure management tools.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and performance analysis tools.

Preferred Skills & Additional Information

  • Linux server environment expertise.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Experience in financial services or technology industries.
  • Certifications in Azure and HashiCorp Vault are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range is USD 110,000 - USD 138,000 with additional annual bonus eligibility. Comprehensive benefits include healthcare, retirement, leave benefits, and more. BlackRock follows a hybrid work model requiring four days in-office and one day remote.
