About This Role
As an Associate, UX/UI Designer at BlackRock, you will play a crucial role in evolving and maintaining a unified design system. This position involves both strategic design thinking and hands-on execution, ensuring high-quality user experiences across various projects.
You will be instrumental in delivering data-heavy digital designs, taking end-to-end ownership of UI design projects from requirements definition and discovery to user validation and implementing high-fidelity specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Contribute, maintain, and evolve a unified design system, conducting audits and identifying areas for improvement.
- Determine project timelines and resources, managing schedules with limited interdependencies.
- Present design solutions effectively to cross-functional partners to gain alignment.
- Deliver high-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed visual designs for key roadmap projects.
- Document specifications and standards for engineering, leading visual QA of deliverables to ensure design perfection in production.
- Enforce design standards, provide detailed feedback, and collaborate with engineering and product management.
- Validate design ideas through user testing, leveraging data to inform solutions and rationale.
Qualifications
To succeed in this Associate, UX/UI Designer role, you should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction, UX Design, Digital Design, or a related field, along with two (2) years of experience in a similar capacity (e.g., UX Design Lead, Associate Director, Associate Designer).
Specific experience required includes:
- Two (2) years of experience delivering data-heavy digital designs within multi-functional teams.
- Two (2) years of experience with end-to-end ownership of UI design projects, including defining requirements, leading discovery, conducting user-validated iterations, and implementing high-fidelity specifications.
- Two (2) years of experience with design tools such as Sketch, InVision, and Figma.
- Two (2) years of experience with visual design elements, including Typography, Iconography, Color Theory, Layout, and Composition.
- One (1) year of experience working with design systems and contributing to pattern libraries, including identifying component gaps and documenting new patterns.
- Six (6) months of experience with CSS/HTML.
