About the role
Associate, Fundamental Credit Research
BlackRock is seeking an Associate for its APAC Fundamental Fixed team within the Finance sector. This role involves working closely with portfolio managers to assess credit opportunities and conduct rigorous fundamental credit research across the corporate capital structure. The Associate will be responsible for primary credit coverage of a defined list of issuers and will monitor investments for High Yield, Leveraged Loan, and Long/Short Credit portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental credit research across the corporate capital structure.
- Collaborate with a senior analyst in covering the Fins sector, analyzing economic, competitive, and political drivers impacting credit quality.
- Contribute trade ideas and participate in relative value and trade structuring discussions with portfolio managers.
- Engage with management teams, industry sources, and other investment professionals.
- Develop well-researched investment theses on credits, sectors, and issuers by assimilating various information sources.
- Create financial models, analyze financial and operational metrics, and develop valuations.
- Communicate credit opinions and investment recommendations to Portfolio Managers, committees, and external clients.
Skills, Experience And Education
- 5-7 years of experience in credit/financial statement analysis, including analyzing companies, fixed income securities, and equity investments.
- Domain experience in Banking, Financial Institutions, or similar industries is required.
- MBA or equivalent qualification in Finance with a superior academic record; CFA is an advantage.
- Advanced financial analysis and modeling skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and analytical skills.
- An inquisitive and analytical mindset with a logical and thorough work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
