About the role
Associate, Aladdin Implementations
BlackRock is seeking an Associate to join their Financial Management team, specializing in the implementation of the enterprise investment system, Aladdin, at external clients. This role focuses on "AladdinStudio" workflows, including interfaces, APIs, Aladdin Tools for Excel, and the Aladdin Data Cloud, with a primary responsibility for managing the interfaces channel within Aladdin Implementations. You will provide expert guidance on interface design, requirement analysis, and data channel management throughout Aladdin implementations. Your duties will involve assisting in converting client data into Aladdin, developing interfaces between Aladdin and external/in-house systems, and leading client system future state architecture sessions to define project scope and identify potential challenges. You will collaborate directly with clients to develop project plans and trackers, coordinate project resources, and manage updates. This position requires liaising with client counterparts, including senior technology representatives responsible for the interface channel. Proficiency in SQL, Unix, Python, and Perl is essential for efficient data storage, processing, and transfer via SFTP and APIs. You will also contribute to expanding documentation on Aladdin's interface and API practices and provide training on interfaces and the data channel to team members and new hires. Demonstrating Aladdin tools and investment workflows to clients will also be part of your responsibilities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Financial Analysis, or a related field, coupled with two (2) years of experience as an Analyst or in a similar role. A minimum of two (2) years of experience is required in the following areas:
- Working with capital markets instruments such as equities, fixed income, and derivatives, and understanding the buy-side investment management process.
- Familiarity with financial and risk assessment-related concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL, Unix, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting interfaces through scripting with Perl and Python.
- Experience utilizing REST APIs with JSON file formats.
- Experience with Azure DevOps for file deployment and configuration.
- Experience with financial systems integration using data interfaces and messaging protocols like sFTP.

Compensation and Benefits
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$125,000.00 - USD$147,500.00. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department, and individual performance.
