Role Overview

The Malta Data Architect role supports the development and implementation of large-scale Modern Data Platforms, Business Intelligence (BI), and Analytics solutions. In this role, you will design and build solutions using Azure technologies and be involved in data modeling, technical documentation, and project planning. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills are essential, along with effective communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design Modern Data Platforms across data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouses.
  • Develop data models and build BI and analytics solutions.
  • Enforce technical architecture, documentation standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business experts to translate requirements into data functionalities.
  • Support project scoping, estimation, and task planning.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation and address customer queries.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.

Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in Data and Analytics technologies. A strong grasp of Azure data solutions – including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Power BI, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Cosmos DB – is essential. Knowledge of Azure Purview and Microsoft Dynamics 365 products is an asset. A graduate-level education in Computer Science or a relevant field is preferred, along with certifications and CI/CD experience.
