Role Overview: Dynamics 365 Functional F&O Lead Consultant
KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (D365FO) Lead Consultant. This role demands a hands-on approach with proven experience in end-to-end implementations of large-scale enterprise D365FO projects, including interfacing and integration of Dynamics products. Consultancy experience is essential for continuous client interaction, managing onshore consultants, and collaborating with both onshore and offshore development teams.
Beyond project delivery, this position involves significant presales activities focused on D365FO and the broader Microsoft platform. You will contribute to proposal development, provide input in business development, and actively mentor junior staff. Job Location & Details
This hybrid role is based in Sliema, Malta, and is a full-time, permanent position. Working hours align with GMT +1, and the compensation includes a competitive base salary plus benefits, paid in Euros (€). A comprehensive VISA & Relocation Package is included to support your move.
Requirements
Experience and Background
- Minimum 9 years of relevant experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.
- Experience leading a team of at least 4 members.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale ERP implementations.
- Ability to think clearly and calmly under pressure, with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Track record of constantly assessing and incorporating new technologies and software into your skillset.
- Experience managing and leading more junior consultants to successful outcomes.
- Proven pre-sales experience.
- Strong knowledge of business process mapping, modeling, and documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Business & IT or a similar field.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lead meetings and workshops, and confidently present to C-Suite executives.
- Outstanding understanding of accounting processes, principles, functionality, and systems.
- For Finance roles: Solid Finance background (ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified or qualified is desirable but not essential).
- For SCM roles: Good experience in manufacturing or advanced warehousing, and project cost accounting.
- Microsoft Dynamics Finance and/or SCM and/or Retail certification, ideally the most current version.
- Excellent knowledge of the following areas of an implementation project life cycle: Requirements analysis and documentation, Business process mapping and modeling, Development testing and UAT, Data migration, Cut-over activities, Go-live support.
- Must be able to show excellent knowledge of best practices for D365FO.
- Strong MS Office skills (primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Visio is a plus).
- Strong understanding of Data Migration.
- Knowledge of Power Platform capabilities and Business Intelligence (BI).
- LCS and Azure DevOps knowledge.
- Understanding of integration tools and technologies.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Client-centric approach with emphasis on client satisfaction.
- Knowledge of best practices for working with offshore teams and on multi-national projects.
- Excellent presentation and demonstration skills.
Responsibilities
Project Responsibilities
- Leading the Finance, SCM, and/or Retail workstreams of full end-to-end D365 implementations through all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Leading the solution at a workstream level, making design decisions, and creating solution documentation.
- Responsible for leading and managing a team of talented consultants with varying levels of expertise.
- Providing on-site support as required by the company or client.
- Possessing a very good understanding of D365FO functional capabilities.
- Involvement with functional interfaces and integrations with D365FO.
- Working with the onsite engagement team & client team to gather requirements, determine expectations, and finalize deliverables.
- Gathering and documenting functional requirements and completing gap/fit analysis.
- Ensuring quality project delivery of produced deliverables and demonstrating experience in system and functional testing.
- Demonstrating awareness of scope (creep) and the use of change control.
- Delivering end-user training to clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrating ability around upselling and understanding of additional company capabilities.
- Responding to RFPs and RFQs.
- Demonstrating excellent foundational consulting skills, including analytical know-how, written & verbal communication, team participation, and presentation skills.
- Solving and advising on complex problems with creative solutions.
- Meeting and exceeding customer expectations from business knowledge, skills, and behavior.
- Ensuring progress updates are communicated to relevant parties both formally and informally.
Practice Responsibilities
- Awareness of the product roadmap and content of future D365FO releases in Finance, SCM, and/or Retail, and demonstrating changes/additions to team members.
- Identifying practice development activities and strong involvement in their creation and delivery to colleagues.
- Involvement in further development of Finance and/or SCM and/or Retail capabilities within the D365FO product team.
- Promoting the values of the company.
- Managing performance and mentoring junior team members.
- Willingness to travel abroad when required.
- Always representing KPMG in a professional and positive manner.
- Ensuring timely completion of internal processes and mandatory training.
- Carrying out additional duties as instructed and agreed by Directors.
- Adhering to KPMG’s Information Security Policies (ISP and ISMP) at all times.
