Dynamics 365 F&O Technical Solution Architect

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Dynamics 365 F&O Technical Solution Architect to join their Microsoft Business Solutions team, a Microsoft Gold Partner and leader in Microsoft software implementations. This role is crucial for delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations solutions to medium to large organizations, helping them navigate the digital world with M365, Azure, ERP, and Customer Engagement software from the Dynamics 365 line.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience across all phases of large-scale enterprise D365FO projects. With hands-on experience, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems architecture to meet evolving business needs. A strong background in consultancy is essential for continuous client interaction, managing onshore consultants, and collaborating with both onshore and offshore development teams. This position also involves presales activities focused on D365FO functionality and the broader Microsoft platform, contributing to proposal development, business development, and leading and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

Experience and Background

• 10+ years of relevant technical experience in Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO).
• 4+ years of proven experience leading and delivering end-to-end solutions using the D365FO platform.
• In-depth experience with Microsoft Azure and Power Platform, Integration Patterns and Data Migration, Environment Strategies and DevOps, Object-Oriented Design and Test-Driven Development.
• Experience working with Common Data Services (Dual-Write) for integration with Dynamics 365 applications.
• High-level expertise in designing, developing, and delivering solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
• Familiarity with Agile Methodology, Configuration Management, and Performance/Testing Automation Tools.
• Conversant with functional business processes.
• Proficient in Visio, Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project.
• Proven track record of delivering full project lifecycles.
• Expertise in performance evaluation and career development strategies.
• Ability to manage and optimize team performance across projects.
• Strong experience with consultancy firms.

Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Professional certification: MB-700: Microsoft Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent Leadership skills – with proven work experience as a Solution Architect and/or a Senior Technical/Functional Role.
• Excellent organization and prioritizing skills.
• Strong decision-making and team management capabilities.
• Proven track record delivering the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Project Responsibilities

• Owns the technical end-to-end solution, ensuring cohesion and correctness.
• Designs and governs an integrated system that meets the product-owner’s vision.
• Assesses current systems architecture and collaborates with technical staff for continuous improvement.
• Provides leadership and guidance to the team throughout implementation, ensuring accurate delivery of project plans.
• Owns the specifications and requirements into the systems and environment Architecture.
• Provides on-site support as required by company or client.
• Assists Functional Solution Architects and consultants with technical requirements gathering and design guidance.
• Facilitates discussions with business and technical stakeholders to translate critical business requirements into technical visions and solutions (software products, customizations, integrations).
• Provides regular updates on systems architecture projects.
• Possesses deep knowledge of the Dynamics 365 platform including Finance and Operations, Power Platform, and integration with 3rd party applications, identifying out-of-the-box capabilities versus custom development needs.
• Provides current best practices and solution alternatives in functional or technical design documents.
• Responsible for training end-users and client teams on D365 F&O overall Architecture.
• Navigates user interface and system administration module in D365.
• Communicates effectively with member firms and clients, leading meetings and workshops.
• Ability to successfully communicate complex topics regarding solutions and related projects to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identifies technical risks, mitigates them, communicates with stakeholders, and owns resolution.
• Devises scope and owns estimates for sales proposals and statements of work.
• Assesses and compares the business impact of relevant technical implementation options.
• Carries out additional duties as instructed and agreed by Directors & Leads.

Practice Responsibilities

• Identifies and provides regular updates on practice development activities, helping define strategy.
• Continuously researches current and emerging technologies, proposing changes as needed.
• Coaches and mentors other employees within the organization.
• Reports to the performance manager for internal performance reporting, and to the engagement leader and project manager for project assignments.
• Assists in technical interviews.
• Performance manages and/or mentors junior members of the team.
• Supports practice development activities, such as defining and configuring industry-specific templates.
• Always represents our client in a professional and positive manner.
• Ensures timely completion of internal processes and mandatory trainings.
• Adheres to best practice and our client’s technical standards during all project implementations.
• Carries out additional duties as instructed and agreed by Directors & Leads.
• Willing to travel abroad when required.
