The Product Research Team
The Product Research team within Bitsight’s Security Research department focuses on technology and methodology development for security signal collection, processing, and analysis. The team is part of Bitsight’s broader product development organization and will investigate and prototype new potential product capabilities. This research position will own the functional area of threat actor intelligence data which underpins many of Bitsight’s platform capabilities. This position is ideally suited to a candidate with a broad mix of threat intelligence, information security, and data analysis expertise with a passion for creating new products and capabilities.
Objectives & Responsibilities
- Curate, maintain, and own quality of knowledge bases of threat actor intelligence populating product features
- Serve as a cyber threat intelligence subject matter expert to advise product teams on product feature alignment with customer/practitioner workflows and data alignment with desired functionality
- Drive quality and innovation in Bitsight’s capabilities to collect insights into cyber threat actor activity
- Design and research new methods for data collection and processing to introduce new product features or serve as enhancements to existing features.
- Perform data analysis on internally and externally derived datasets to assess data quality and conduct feasibility studies on new, potential product features
- Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering groups to translate proofs-of-concept into production product features
- Conduct research, writing, and presentations in support of flagship CTI reports, marketing activities, and customer engagements to promote key findings and capabilities
Skills
- Practical experience applying threat modeling frameworks to track threat actor activity
- Experience using large language models to augment analysis and data processing workflows
- Broad technical background across computer networking concepts and information security
- Ability to write scripts to process and analyze datasets and generate proofs-of-concept for new capabilities
- Capable of being self-motivated and operating autonomously on projects, or with others in a team.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, including ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
- Ability to conduct statistical experiments and test hypotheses supporting feasibility studies of new product features
Education
B.S/M.S in Computer Science or similar field or commensurate experience.
