Birdeye is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support its global commercial legal efforts, particularly during high-volume periods, across European locations, part-time in the US, and when US counsel is unavailable. This indicates a highly dynamic and globally integrated operational environment.
About the Role
As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will serve as the strategic people advisor for Birdeye’s global Sales, Customer Success, and Support organizations – primarily customer-facing roles based in India, but fully aligned with US time zones. Your role will be critical in driving talent strategies, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring that HR initiatives directly support core business goals within a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. This position requires considerable flexibility for evening/night IST shifts to enable seamless collaboration with US-based leaders and teams. Prior experience working during U.S. business hours and supporting global teams is a prerequisite.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR contact for India-based customer-facing teams, addressing their operational and people needs comprehensively.
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and engagement, in close collaboration with India HR leadership and global department leaders.
- Oversee payroll/benefits administration support, HR data management within HR systems, documentation, and continuous process improvements.
- Drive key employee engagement initiatives, such as pulse surveys, recognition programs, and retention strategies across the organization.
- Advise on compensation structures, incentives (e.g., commissions, SPIFs), and equity for global teams, ensuring strict compliance with India, US, and international labor laws.
- Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and cultural integration across various time zones, proactively addressing challenges associated with remote work for distributed Sales/Support teams.
- Handle all aspects of employee relations, including conflict resolution and providing coaching to managers on performance issues, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), and terminations.
- Analyze crucial people data (e.g., attrition trends, hiring metrics) to generate actionable insights and recommend strategic interventions, utilizing tools like Paylocity and ADP.
- Collaborate effectively with Leaders and HR Operations to successfully roll out global HR programs, specifically customized to meet the unique needs of Sales/Support teams.
- Support organizational change management initiatives, such as team restructures or expansions, particularly during peak sales cycles.
- Ensure stringent compliance with India labor laws and all company HR policies.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of progressive HRBP experience or a similar role, with at least 3 years directly supporting Sales, Support, or other customer-facing teams within a global or multinational corporation (MNC) environment. SaaS company experience is highly preferred.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field. HR certifications (such as SHRM, PHR, etc.) are a significant plus.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting customer-facing global teams, with a proven track record in employee lifecycle management, performance management, and employee relations within both India and US contexts.
- Strong foundational knowledge of India labor laws (e.g., Shops & Establishments Act, POSH), US employment practices, and broader global compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR for data privacy).
- Proficiency in key HRIS platforms (e.g., Paylocity, ADP, Workday, or similar), Google Workspace/MS Office suites, and various analytics tools.
- Exceptional ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills, coupled with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
- Capability to thrive in a US time zone work schedule (e.g., 7:30 PM - 4:30 AM IST), with strong virtual collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work closely with a cross-functional team of highly motivated and intelligent individuals possessing a unique range of start-up and enterprise experience.
- Competitive Compensation packages.
- A flexible Remote/Hybrid Work Environment.
- A vibrant and engaging company culture.
- Significant Growth, Development, and Career opportunities inherent in a high-growth organization.
