Student Proposal Coordinator: What You'll Be Working On

This co-op opportunity provides a business-relevant project, allowing students to manage their own area of responsibility with support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. Internships and Co-ops at Bird Construction are designed to help students discover their strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment. Projects are aligned with the term length and typically focus on current construction projects.

We are seeking a student for a 4-8 month co-op position starting in May 2026. This role is based out of the Mississauga head office 5 days a week and is not a remote or partially-remote opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage proposal-related files for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to incorporate technical details into proposals.
  • Communicate effectively with team members for smooth collaboration during proposal development.
  • Conduct thorough proofreading and editing for error-free proposals.
  • Assist in developing templates and standard content to streamline future proposal processes.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments for proposal information gathering.
  • Assist in creating and formatting proposal documents to meet organizational standards.
  • Coordinate the review process, ensuring timely stakeholder feedback.
  • Conduct market research for relevant proposal content.
  • Analyze client requirements, tailoring proposals to meet specific needs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends for enhanced proposal competitiveness.
  • Maintain a comprehensive, accurate database of proposal content.

Who We Need On Our Team

Bird Construction is looking for individuals who are currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, or Design related program. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills are essential. Applicants must complete at least one more semester of education following the internship and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to lead and operate effectively in an environment with frequent change, forge positive relationships, and exemplify the Ideal Team Player traits: Hungry, Humble, Smart. A sense of urgency, strong commitment to achieving goals, and the ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude are also required. Residency or a valid work permit for Canada is necessary. A current transcript must be included with all applications.
