Position Summary
As a Principal Scientist Molecular Design, you will join the Computational and Data Sciences (CDS) team to guide design efforts on advancing programs from hit exploration to lead optimization. You will leverage vast chemical datasets and proprietary platforms, working closely with chemistry, biology, and machine learning teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead multiple pipeline programs through hit exploration and hit-to-lead stages.
- Manage direct reports across pipeline projects.
- Design small molecules using in-house high-throughput computational tools.
- Collaborate with Molecular Design, Machine Learning, and Medicinal Chemistry teams.
- Communicate design strategies and outcomes internally and externally.
Experience and Qualifications
The candidate should have a BS/MS/PhD in computational, organic, or medicinal chemistry or related field with 7+ years in the industry. Publications, patents, and experience with ligand-based and structure-based methods, large chemical datasets, and familiarity with Python and RDKit are required.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation ranges from $195,000 to $294,000 annually, including participation in the company's option plan, a 3% retirement safe harbor contribution, and fully-paid medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
