Role Summary
The Director, Managed Markets Liaison is a field-based, customer facing subject matter expert on the Medical Affairs team. This role focuses on delivering scientific, health economic, and clinical support to national/regional payer accounts. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Medical Affairs Managed Markets Team Lead, the Director leads strategic customer engagement and supports internal cross-functional initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Engage with payers and healthcare decision makers through compliant scientific and health economic exchanges.
- Develop strategic customer account plans aligned with medical and access strategies.
- Gather and deliver customer insights to shape company and access strategy.
- Provide timely, accurate answers to unsolicited medical information requests.
- Serve as an internal expert by training Market Access and other teams.
- Develop payer-facing field tools, build community awareness and support HEOR initiatives.
- Attend key national/regional conferences to gather insights and reinforce relationships.
- Collaborate with Market Access, HEOR, MSLs, Patient Advocacy, Commercial, Legal, and Compliance teams.
- Manage administrative tasks using Veeva CRM and other tools.
Education And Skills Requirements
- An advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD) or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, managed care, or HEOR roles.
- Experience in payer-focused field medical liaison and account management roles.
- Knowledge of neuromuscular disorders, rare disease, and specialty drugs.
- Strong understanding of the US payer system and advanced clinical data communication.
- Proven ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
