About the role

Manager, Biostatistics (Contract)

We are seeking a Manager, Biostatistics (Contract) to support clinical development and medical affairs. This is an early-career role designed for candidates with a strong statistical foundation and initial industry experience who are looking to deepen their exposure to the pharmaceutical industry. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical, medical, HEOR, market access, data management, and statistical programming, to contribute to statistical analyses that inform decision-making across the clinical pipeline. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in statistical methodology, clinical trial protocol/SAP development, exploratory data analysis, R/Python programming, and data visualization, with working knowledge of AI tools considered a plus.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support statistical activities for clinical trials.
  • Conduct secondary research activities, including post hoc analysis of clinical trial data, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, to explore/synthesize existing data and inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain advanced data visualizations using industry-leading tools such as R Shiny, Python, and other relevant platforms.
  • Assist in the interpretation of statistical results and communicate findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clinical, medical, data management, and programming teams to ensure all deliverables are accurate, consistent, and aligned with clinical and regulatory standards, enhancing accessibility and clarity of clinical trial data.
  • Utilize R/Python and AI agent tools where appropriate to improve efficiency and automation.

Candidate Requirements

  • PhD / DrPH in statistics/biostatistics or related disciplines with >2 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or MS degree in statistics/biostatistics with >5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a statistician.
  • Hands-on experience supporting clinical trials (any phase).
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial data structures (e.g., SDTM, ADaM) and clinical trial design.
  • Expert in data visualization tools such as R/R Shiny, Python, or similar software. Experience with AI tool is a plus.
  • Understanding of clinical trial design, endpoints, and regulatory expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex statistical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead projects independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
