About The Role
This application is for a 6-month student role from January - June 2026. Resume review begins in October 2025. Biogen’s Decision & Quality Analytics Innovation (DQAI) Team, part of the Research Development & Medical (RDM) Organization, aims to drive data-driven insights from trusted data. The team’s mission is to maximize the quality, efficiency and application of analytics across the RDM Portfolio and Quality Management Systems through improved data and metrics management, optimization opportunities, identification of compliance risk and enhanced business analytics application.

What You’ll Do
At the Co-op Data & Quality Analytics role, you will:
- Leverage modern AI assistants (Azure OpenAI, Copilot, GenAI-powered BI) to accelerate data exploration, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance insight storytelling.
- Analyze complex data from various sources to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Work with senior staff to translate business questions into analytical problems and convert outputs into actionable recommendations.
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover root causes, patterns, and predictive indicators.
- Deliver concise insight summaries, written reports, and presentations that highlight implications and recommendations.
- Collaborate with data engineering and governance teams to ensure data readiness and integrity.
- Support initiatives to accelerate portfolio and program analytics modeling.
- Develop and prototype data visualizations and dashboards.
- Participate in skill-building and capability-enhancement initiatives within the DQAI team.

Who You Are
You are a quantitative-minded problem solver with strong analytical skills. You excel in turning data into actionable insights and communicate complex findings effectively. Proficiency in Python or R, knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning, and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment are essential. Nice-to-haves include a background in biological sciences, clinical/pharmaceutical development, Monte Carlo simulation, or finance/accounting.
Eligibility & Education Requirements
To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must have legal authorization to work in the U.S., be at least 18 years old by the start date, and be currently enrolled in an accredited program. Candidates should be pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits
The base hourly compensation is $29.00, adjusted based on academic level and degree candidacy, compliant with local wage laws. Benefits include company paid holidays, commuter benefits, Employee Resource Group participation, and 80 hours of sick time per calendar year.
