Job Description

Human Resources Business Partner at Billtrust

Billtrust is actively seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a pivotal partner to managers and leaders. This role is crucial for fostering organizational effectiveness, enhancing the employee experience, and driving business performance through dedicated day-to-day collaboration. The HRBP will closely engage with designated groups to grasp business priorities, organizational dynamics, and talent requirements, subsequently delivering practical and scalable people solutions that align with Billtrust's strategic goals and culture.

As an embedded partner, the HRBP will empower leaders to strengthen team performance, adeptly navigate employee relations, build robust talent pipelines, and implement consistent people practices. This role involves close collaboration with various Centers of Excellence (Talent, Total Rewards, People Operations) to execute comprehensive programs and deliver integrated support, while continuously advancing capabilities in leadership coaching, workforce planning, and organizational development.

Candidates must be located in the Eastern or Central Time Zone.

What You'll Do:

Business Partnership & Leader Support
  • Partner with leaders and managers to align people priorities with business goals and operational needs.
  • Build strong relationships within supported departments through regular engagement, presence in team meetings, and proactive partnership.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee performance, team dynamics, communication, and leadership practices.
  • Support leaders through change initiatives, including team growth, restructures, role clarity, and integration of new ways of working.
Talent, Performance & Development
  • Support workforce planning and talent needs by understanding role requirements, capability gaps, and team growth priorities.
  • Partner with leaders on performance management practices, including goal-setting, feedback, coaching, and development planning.
  • Help drive key talent processes such as talent reviews, succession discussions, and development planning through consistent facilitation and follow-through.
  • Collaborate with recruiting and talent partners to support hiring strategy, interview practices, and successful onboarding.
Employee Relations & Culture
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee relations needs; coach managers on addressing issues early and consistently.
  • Investigate and resolve employee concerns with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment, partnering with Legal and People Operations as needed.
  • Champion a high-trust, inclusive culture by reinforcing company values in day-to-day leadership behaviors and people practices.
  • Support engagement efforts by partnering with leaders to interpret feedback and implement focused improvement actions.
People Insights, Compliance & Program Execution
  • Utilize people data and insights (turnover, engagement, performance trends) to identify themes and formulate recommendations.
  • Support leaders in applying HR policies and practices consistently and in alignment with employment standards.
  • Collaborate with People Operations and HR COEs to execute programs effectively, including compensation cycles, performance cycles, engagement surveys, and policy updates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and employee experience within supported client groups.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience as an HR Business Partner or in an HR Generalist role supporting leaders and employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with managers and mid-level leaders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid foundation in employee relations, performance management, and HR policy application.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust, influence, and navigate sensitive situations.
  • Ability to connect business needs to practical people solutions; developing business acumen and a consultative approach.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities across a client group.
  • Experience supporting growth, scale, or organizational change is strongly preferred.

The expected base salary range for this position is $115,000.00-$135,000.00
