Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a Software Engineer for our DIA Support team. This is an on-site position in Herndon, VA where you will work closely with various development, support teams, and DoD/IC customers.

What you will do
- Work within a cross-functional Scrum team.
- Perform software engineering and development activities.
- Support, maintain, and enhance software using an Agile DevSecOps model.
- Work with containers and automated testing frameworks.
What you need to have
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience OR Master’s with 3 years experience (or additional experience in lieu of degree).
- Strong Python development experience with workflow orchestration.
- Experience with Elasticsearch/Open Search, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
- Experience with state machines, task queues (e.g., Celery) or workflow engines.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and data serialization (JSON, XML).
- Active TS/SCI clearance with current poly.
What we'd like you to have
- Knowledge of API design best practices and data governance.
- Experience using Node.js.
- Familiarity with frameworks like Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
- Security+ or equivalent certification with willingness to support deployed systems testing.
