Job Description

About BI4ALL

Since 2004, BI4ALL has been a leader in consulting services, specializing in Analytics, Big Data, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Visualization, and Software Engineering. The world is overflowing with data. At BI4ALL, we turn that complexity into clarity, creating actionable insights that help organizations make better decisions and stay competitive. We work across multiple industries and markets, both in Portugal and internationally, delivering high-impact solutions tailored to each client’s needs. BI4ALL has been recognized with more than 30 national and international awards and has over 370 professionals with diverse backgrounds, cultures, skills, and experiences, all part of a rapidly growing organization. In 2025, we joined the Plexus Tech Group, a global technology leader, strengthening our international presence and enhancing our ability to create value for both clients and people.

About You

Are you passionate about helping organisations unlock the true value of their data? Do you enjoy bringing structure, clarity, and strategy to complex data ecosystems? Then this opportunity as a Data Governance & Strategy Consultant is for you.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Data Governance & Strategy Consultant, you will:

  • Data Strategy & Governance Advocacy: Champion BI4ALL’s data strategy and governance principles internally and externally. Support client engagement by promoting best practices, frameworks, and data management methodologies (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK). Contribute to research, presentations, and knowledge sharing within the CoE.
  • Project Execution: Support the execution of data maturity assessments. Conduct interviews, analyze findings, and prepare reports highlighting strengths, gaps, and actionable recommendations. Collaborate with senior consultants to translate assessment results into strategic roadmaps. Assist in defining conceptual data models and governance frameworks aligned with client objectives. Perform functional analysis, including functional or technical documentation (context diagram/swim lane diagrams/ conceptual data models). Collaborate with data architects to ensure governance practices are embedded within the organization’s data architecture (e.g., ensuring that data models are governed and aligned with business needs). Define and implement data quality standards and metrics.
  • Research & Innovation: Continuously research and evaluate emerging data governance, data quality, and metadata management technologies. Stay current with market trends and provide recommendations for tool adoption and CoE methodologies. Produce comparative analyses and concise presentations for internal and client use.
  • Client Engagement & Consulting: Participate in client workshops to gather business and data requirements. Present insights and recommendations clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Content Development & Communication: Prepare high-quality deliverables including PowerPoint presentations, reports, and white papers. Contribute to internal enablement materials and thought leadership content. Support the Head of CoE in building and refining data governance collateral and methodologies.

What We Are Looking For

We seek a curious, proactive, and client-oriented professional passionate about data and eager to impact how organizations govern and manage their data assets. Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of data governance and data management best practices, including key concepts such as data ownership, metadata, lineage, data quality, and master data.
  • Experience working in consulting or client-facing roles, with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to conduct requirements gathering, synthesize insights, and translate them into business and technical recommendations.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills and a talent for visual storytelling — able to craft clear, compelling presentations.
  • Analytical mindset combined with attention to detail and structured thinking.
  • A strong sense of curiosity and a genuine interest in emerging data technologies and tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview).
  • Team player attitude, eager to collaborate across disciplines within the Center of Excellence and the broader BI4ALL community.
  • English proficiency, enabling effective collaboration in a global context.

We also value:

  • Experience in developing or interpreting conceptual or logical data models.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality platforms.
  • Knowledge of industry frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, or EDM Council best practices.
  • Understanding of data maturity assessment methodologies or enterprise data strategy projects.
