What You'll Experience as a BHP Technology Graduate
Technology is fundamental to BHP’s future, and we are seeking graduates eager to drive this transformation. You will contribute to delivering technology solutions that ensure our operations remain safe, efficient, and future-ready – from designing intelligent digital tools to supporting autonomous fleets and advanced data platforms. You’ll be part of highly collaborative teams that prioritize your growth and well-being.
Depending on your chosen discipline, your contributions could span automation, operational technology, cloud engineering, data and analytics, or digital product development. These areas are crucial to the daily functioning of our iron ore, copper, and coal operations.
This two-year program comprises four 6-month rotations across various teams, designed to develop the specific Technology skills required to transition into a specialist position upon program completion.
During these rotations, you will:
- Strengthen your capabilities by fostering innovation and problem-solving skills to drive improvements.
- Learn effective communication, alongside core work skills like prioritizing tasks, managing change, maintaining curiosity, and cultivating a growth mindset.
- Complete one of your four rotations on-site at an operational location relevant to your specialization, potentially in Western Australia Iron Ore, Queensland Coal, or South Australia’s Copper Operations.
- Gain insights into the resources sector by collaborating with skilled professionals and contributing to real projects and business challenges.
About The Role
The 24-month BHP Technology Graduate Program is designed to bring individuals together to learn, build capabilities, and gain confidence for their future careers. You will build upon your university foundations while acquiring skills essential for a lifelong career in technology within the resources sector.

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking graduates who are curious, analytical, and excited to shape the future of technology at BHP. Successful candidates will possess strong problem-solving skills, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Adaptability, strong communication skills, and a continuous improvement mindset are crucial for navigating both technical and business-focused environments.
Degrees We Consider (including But Not Limited To)
- Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology

- Business, Commerce or Project Management with a strong technology or digital delivery focus
To be eligible, you must have graduated within the past two years or be scheduled to graduate by the end of 2026 with a degree aligned with the disciplines listed above.
International students holding a valid visa are encouraged to apply. By February 2027, you must possess a visa without any work restrictions.
